Redback

I'll use this page to document progress on the Redback aerobatic glider.

(edit 09 May 2012)
I've been doing a little bit of thinking about the Redback lately and am looking forward to getting started on it.
I love the way my TP42 Wasabi performs and was thinking that I would create something pretty similar based on the  same TP42 aerofoil. Then I thought "what about something a little bit different?" so I contacted Dr James Hammond and got his permission to use the JH10-SYM aerofoil. This foil is used on the Minivec. James is very pleased with the performance of the JH10-SYM so there really isn't any reason I won't be stoked with it.
Been also thinking about the building process a bit lately. I think I am going to build quite heavy and strong for the first one and vac-bag over pink foam with Carbon sandwiching balsa. This should give me the opportunity to test fly and make small modifications before using it as a plug to create the mould.
Not sure what to do about the tailplane yet, but I'm pretty sure it will have a standard elevator and be an X tail.
